about raindrop technique

 Raindrop Technique

Raindrop Technique was developed in 1990 by Gary Young, the founder of Young Living Essential Oils.  Gary Young was a farmer who went on to study naturopathy and natural therapies.  He was introduced to therapeutic-grade essential oils and could see their power on the human body.

Excited by this discovery, Gary then devoted his life to studying with the best in the business, learning the fine art of growing, harvesting, distilling and testing.  This led him to establish the company Young Living Essential Oils, which has become the largest producer of therapeutic-grade essential oils in the world.

Gary was also intrigued by how essential oils could work on the emotional level, and studied with many healers, shamans and native tribes.  The Raindrop Technique is a gentle yet powerful technique developed from ancient Egyptian and Native American energy principles.  These are combined with Ancient Tibetan reflexology, various massage moves and the power of Young Living's therapeutic-grade essential oils, to create a truly unique and wonderful experience.  In total there are 9 essential oils used throughout the technique, all with their unique and powerful constituents.

Raindrop Technique was first developed as a powerful, holistic modality for people but then went on to be practiced on animals, with some minor adaptations for the different anatomy.

Young Living Essential Oils

Put simply, essential oils are the resultant liquid left over when the plant material has been distilled (cooked).  Provided correct distillation methods are used, the essential oil will contain all of the goodness that the plant has to offer.  Essential oils can be used in a variety of ways such as via inhalation, topical use and flavouring of food and beverages.

Essentials oils are not a new fad – their history dates back thousands of years.  The reason for their popularity of late is that people are consciously choosing to return to natural remedies as part of their health regime.

With this growing consumer interest, there are many essential oil brands being launched on the market, all with claims of 100% purity and associated health benefits.  When using essential oils on yourself or your pets though, it is imperative that you know all of the steps that have been taken to produce that bottle of oil.  Without this knowledge, you could inadvertently be using an adulterated oil that may cause a harmful reaction.

Why Choose Young Living?

Young Living is the largest producer of therapeutic-grade essential oils in the world.  The company was established in 1994 by Gary Young who had been studying herbs and natural healing for well over a decade prior.  He was particularly interested in the growing, harvesting and distillation of oils from plants.  This led him to travel the world and work alongside leaders in these fields.

Young Living achieves the ultimate in quality control by owning most of their own farms and working with partner farms, as opposed to buying oils through brokers where the origins and farming practices are unknown.

Young Living has a Seed to Seal guarantee of quality, meaning at no stage of the process – from planting the seed in the ground, to the growing, harvesting, distilling, testing and sealing of the lid on the bottle – are any chemicals used.

Furthermore, Young Living researches and uses the correct chemotype (subspecies) of the plant ensuring it is the most compatible with the human and animal body.  They ensure that each species of plant is harvested at the correct time of day and distilled for the correct length of time, meaning the most pure oil is obtained.  And because they never compromise on quality, every batch of oil is run through 15 different tests, with these test repeated six times!  If an oil doesn't meet their standard, it is not sold to you.

Although initially only selling essential oils, Young Living now have an extensive range of oil-infused products for the home and personal care, as well as a range of supplements, a kids range and products for animals.
